John Gobles 45lb 8oz Pike DEAD? Can anyone confirm the rumour going round that John's fish was found dead recently, post spawning? Any details where/when by whom??? Hopefully it's just a rumour and a smokescreen to deter the armada of Anglers trying to home in on her..................

Re: John Gobles 45lb 8oz Pike DEAD? hi all, as i live in norfolk and living only 10 miles from the area where it was caught, i have heard no such rumour, i would believe it is a idea to stop the pikeing "circus" shall we say decending on the thurne, but having fished it myself for a few years now they had better be prepaird for many a blank day as it is a very difficult system, so we can all still live in hope, and im sure that the thurne, bure or wensum will give us another"monster"soon, good luck all, tight lines...

Re: John Gobles 45lb 8oz Pike DEAD? thats a lovely fishby any standards,as i live in horstead, just by the mill, i have been fishing the higher reaches of the bure, with some good results, fish upto 23lb by just walking along the banks and letting a large smelt trott along under a float. you can cover a bit more water, if you have to travel down from devon, if you need any info on where is fishing well/poorly drop me a email and il let you know whats happening on the "grapevine" its took me many years to find a few good places, and its a long way to travel for a blank. tight lines.
