Blickling Lake

Went fishing today, first time fishing for the pike on a lake. The lake is one of the largest I've fished and is 22 acres big set in the grounds of Blickling Hall. It holds monster bream, good carp and pike, roach, perch and some big eels.

Here's a picture of our swim:

I fished 2 rods, my dad fished 1. The fishing began and the baits we used on the first few chucks were mackerel. We didn't have anything by 1pm, so we changed to smelt. Within 10 minutes my dads rod screamed off, but somehow the wally missed it He was well dissapointed as he really wants to catch a pike and hasn't even managed to see 1 on the bank yet!

The day came to an end too quickly and he packed away while I practised my pendulum swings, managed to get a bit further than normal, so wan't a complete waste

There was about 12 pikers around the lake and i only saw 1 catch looked quite big from where i was.

Here's a few other pics of the lake:

Re: Blickling Lake

Hi, norfolkboy,

didnt realise you were allowed to fish the lake! Ive been to Blickling Hall with my parents years ago, we went out on a boat round the lake.

Shame you didnt catch any, there def in there though, it was summer and water was really clear, you could see the Carp and Eels swimming about!

I Might have to give it a try some time
