This is almost a baggie type tale of disaster

yesterday car played up ( lost all power steering fluid) thought had found and tightened leak, refilled and game on

woke up a bit late , answered pauls alarm text from a half hour earlier

so after makeing flask and then car packing up again ( how heavy can a car be too drive

, so didnt get to canal till 7), swim i wanted on end of bank was taken so decided to head to second choice the boats
was fishing by 7.15 ( broke a drop arm indicator grr)
just after 8 and the rowers started and so did the wind, and after a while i was getting hacked off so moved to swim 2 ( under the M5 bridge)

all was going ok ( but no bites) then the wind changed direction and hammered down this stretch

, lost cover to earphones here and a mudfoot from chair as well

so it was back to the boats , as the rowers had stopped by now as well

and although no bites now had baits well pinned down to avoid wind, all was ok apart from the smell from the sewage works( big concrete building behind boats) which got worse

then i saw in distance swim i wanted became free, so shifted again

on way passed 2 others who had only had 1 small jack all day , so didnt feel so bad as was so slow, then bit further on met Pete from our sea club , whos also a mental and very good pike angler, so a good chat, then started setting up near the main bank , whilst setting up the 2nd rod I thought that the first just wouldnt settle, so i picked it up to reset and whay hay fish on

pete came and did the honours of a quick pic ,before quickly back as was struggling badly on bank. we both estimated at 9lb

well i stayed till 6 but nothing else, pete was going to stay till dark

so a result in end but i had to work hard for it
