nice way to end the season

a nice early start was called for as this was going to be my last pike session on my club waters for 6 months,
with that in mind i was nicely settled in a likely looking swim by 0400,it was mild with the occasional light drizzle,
very little happened during first light,there were tench and carp moving but the pike were hiding,i had my first interest at around 7.15 when my popped up smelt was taken by a fiesty 7 pounder,--- blank avoided

whilst pouring out my coffee at 0900 i had my next action when i had a fierce drop back on a large half herring placed in a gap in the weeds,
this obviously heavy fish gave a good account of itself and gave me a few sticky moments trying to get under a nearby tree,
on weighing she pulled the scales down to a very satisfying 19lb 6oz

just about got the mess sorted when the left hand rod shot off,this time it was a lively 9 pounder that i unhooked in the water,

and that was the end of the action for the day,i have lost count of the number of times i have caught all my fish by 10 in the morning,
a nice fish to finish with,now for next week and a PAC event with dave,
now that could be very good
