Tagging

I have been thinking about a way to "tag" or mark landed pike.My best place is a somewhat isolated area with large number of medium and big pikes.I release them of course but have always been wondering if I catch the same pikes again and again.
Is there simple and harmless ways of tagging or marking pikes?

Re: Tagging

no need to mate, all pike markings are different, its like fingerprints no two are the same,
if you take plenty of pictures and make a note of any distinguishing marks you will soon be able to see if you catch the same one a second time

Re: Tagging

I have often wondered the same but as you say all pike have different markings, so that would probably be the best way to distinguish between different fish.
