| Pike Fishing, Derwent Went out today after the pike after 6 or 7 blanks in a row  . Started at 7:30 AM and by 1:30 PM I had'nt even seen a pike, or any other fish for that matter. Started to walk back downstream to the car till I came to a little bridge (about 200 yards from Borrowash Bridge if anyone knows the stretch). Decided to have a cast right beside the bridge, about three casts in a pike absolutely smashed into the lure (it was a Shakespeare Little S) about five feet from the bank  , my heart stopped, I thanked the Holy Mother of Heaven, pulled up the rod, started to reel in.... and it came off  . I cast two or three more times in that spot, and then snagged and lost the lure  .So I went home. Anyway ity was a lovely day (weatherwise) and at least I got out for the day. But still, another blank... I will be back out next thursday. Cheers     |
