| Out Tomorrow............. Hello, I am heading out tomorrow, again to a lake which is within walking distance from my house. It is this lake were my personal best pike and roach are held, I hope to beat mt PB for pike tomorrow , well atleast that is what i am hoping (fingers crossed). I may again try to experiment with additives and attractors to see if it really does help, after the last attempt at experimenting ended with a Blank . I tryed to fish this lake two weeks ago only to be stopped by the ice , there doesn't seem to be any frost at the moment and the rain should stop it anyway so tommorow looks like it should go ahead. It will be my first saturday pike fishing for some time due to football commitments so i hope that it will be successful as i wont be having another for a while .I will let everyone know how I do tomorrow, Cheers, BW __________________ Blackwater Tackle Supplies Keep Ulster's Waters Healthy, Practice Catch and Release! |

| Re: Out Tomorrow............. Headed out at about 9.30 and my friend and i cycled to the close by lough, we had made previous to the trip a tackle trailer for are bikes as carrying it down the road can be awkward. ![]() We where fishing by 10.00 and we were confident of fish as there was a lot of surface activity were we were fishing. On two rods we had ledgered eel and on the other two we had makerel tails. We used attractant on one eel and on one makerel (as part of the experiment). ![]() It was not long until the first few beeps were ringing from the bite alarms Beep....Beep....BEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPP We struck into a fish after the first half hour and it was a good fish after the screaming run. It was a nice fresh Pike of 8lb. On the makerel with attractant. So it was Attrators-1 Plain-0 in the experiment. ![]() It was a lovely fish to start the day and now are confidence was extremely high and we were right as within 20mins we had more activity on the alarms and once again after a lovely run we had another lively pike landed this time it was a bit samller at 5lbs but i am not complaining as i appreciate any fish. Now it was Attractors-1 Plain-1 ![]() The activity did not stop with another great run, but this time it did not result in a fish, i struck but i felt no resistance it may have spat it out but we will never Know. We recast are rods and sat back and waited and this time we had another screaming run and this time when i struck i felt a nice resistance. Again it was a lovely pristene pike. It also was just over 5lbs. Attractors-2 Plain-1 ![]() We sat back and waited but we were not interupted by the alarms for another 45mins and again we struck and hooked the fish only for it to get free seconds after hooking it. We waited again and this time it was a shorter wait and we agian struck to feel no resistance. This proved to be the last run of the day and we had no more activity after this. So at the end end of the session the Attractors had won by a narrow 1 fish margin. I don't beleive that the attractors helped us today as we had plenty of missed fish on the plain rods. For anybody who has not tried eel i would definetly reccomend it, the skin is so tough i struggled even to put the trebles into it, so it was very easy to cast with as i wasnt worried about it coming off during the cast. | Re: Out Tomorrow............. well done mate sounds like a nice session eel sections are a good bait but have you tried Lamprey sections i think these have the edge over normal eel sections, they release large amounts of blood especially when cut plenty of natural attraction |
