| Attractors Hello, I bought some so called "attractors" off ebay on tuesday night so ot will hopefully arrive tomorrow Click here . Its called "Devils's Delight" and it is a mixture of various fish oils and it is coloured red with pig's blood, it sounds a very tasty concoction  . I am going to do few experiments with it on sunday, I will probably have 2 dead baits with and 2 without and i will see if it makes any difference; on the time taken for a run or the amount of runs i get. I am very sceptical about additives and other things which are meant to improve your catch rate such as colourings and glugs. I used to use WD40 on my dead baits when pike fishing but i stopped using as i thought it was a environmental hazard even though i was only using small quantities. i did believe that it helped my catch rate but it may have just been my mind playing around. Has anybody else had any success while fishing for pike by using additives/Attractors. Its just interesting to know wheather other people think they work or not. | Re: Attractors i have played about with them for a couple of years, i use small cage swimfeeders with some foam in them,these get dunked into various aromatic  dips i use,ie mackerel oil,smelt oil and eel oil to name three of them,results have been quite good,i had one day with dave when i had the only three pike of the day and all of them to the rod with the added flavourings, i think they work but not everyone agrees i look forward to hearing how you get on |

| Re: Attractors Thanks for the tip, I may try the feeder approach it sounds quite good also i will be injecting the deadbait with the attractor. The attractor arrived yesterday and it seems a good consistency and if the smell is anything to go by the pike will love it . It smells like a cross between a buthcers and a fish mongers. I am heading out tommorow to the same lake as last week, Aughnadarragh Lough to do a bit of experimenting. so i will let you all know how i get on.
