| wet one had a nice but damp days piking today with mike,the forecast was absolute pants so we expected the worse this morning as we got to the lake before first light, in fact it wasnt too bad,the weather very kindly waited for us to get to our chosen swim,get sorted and then unload on us for the day,  we chose a remote swim a good mile from the car park,very few anglers attempt the walk but it certainly was a swim with a commanding view of the lake although the wet boards were rather treacherous,  mike had the first take,a slow run on a rather large bluey,unfortunately he lost it after about 10 seconds,i think it was a good fish,he then had a dropped run an hour later, my indicators stayed still all day, right at the death just as we were sorting out ready to go home mike had a short stuttering take on a roach deadbait and he gleefully landed a little 2 pounder to get his season going at last  the rain and wind did its best to spoil the day but we enjoyed it all the same, some of the scenery here is wonderful      |

| Re: wet one really enjoyed it was a bit disappointed when i missed the first take but really enjoyed it, learned lots and glad i got my first pike of the winter bigger ones to come thanks to everyone who posted a comment  |
