A cold crisp morning frost on the ground mist on the river perfect .......... No such luck grey wet and windy oh well paid for the ticket so give it a go.
For the second sunday morning running managed a couple of hrs on the Avon for Pike. Fished the cabbage patch and the first swim i fished last week defo pike area slack water and plenty of hiding places thought i would stay put today instead of wondering in the rain.
Set up the two rods as before one on float the other patenoster one with smelt the later with herring, anyway bit slow going to begin with nothing for first hour, then whalst retrieving the float bang fish on pike of about 7 - 8lbs but this was lost one treble only just in, one good shake of the head and gone.
Another half hour passed before the float sailed away again a swift strike set the hooks this time a good bend in the rod, now the prob with this swim is a sunken tree and yep straight in there, everything went solid but after a few minutes with constant pressure not allowing the fish anything one

pike comes out and its not long before its in the net decent fish first double of the season 11 and a half lbs, sorry about last pic camera balanced on rucksack on selftimer under the umbrella lol
