| headed off to the lime kilns this morning for 9am , plan was yto meet TJ and see if we could bag a pike or 2 before the predicted foul weather arrived set up on the main bank as is mostly sheltered from the steady wind that was gusting about, I had on roach and lamprey Tj set up further left with bluey and sprat i think after about 1/2 an hour tj was just about to move the bluey rod when he noticed tip move so he struck and fish on ![]() ![]() after playing what looked like a good fish by the bend and lunges, winning steadily and gently for a few minutes ( now with a crowd as 2 workmen appeared) all of a sudden it was deep in the weed and his 35lb braid just parted ![]() well we were trying most things , the weather was seriously deteeriateing and i decided to go over and move a rod when i got a treble bleep, so i struck the rod i thought it was , muppet it was the other one( should have realised as back swinger was down), so picked that up and after a shortish struggle, well it was smothered in weed so gave up i found this pretty 3- 4lb ish fish ![]() well almost straight after this the persistant rain became the predicted downpour and the wind picked up with it and it was horrid so we called it quits, we hope to be out again later in the week, to get tj his first but glad my curse is finally broken as thats 2 trips 2 fish, cant ask for more ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives |
