 not quite a blank( but dont think this counts really) decided as the leaves are now turning gold, and it was a lovely autumnal start to the day ( still and overcast) that it was time to start my exeter canal pike campaign for 2008/9 now i know that below double locks is as weedy as hell at the moment so i went up above clapperbrook fished the first bend as seemed rude not to put a bait under this tree    view back to bridge  well it was lovely sitting there watching the flow of water ( hang on flow of water in canal  ) and i realise they are mucking about with the levels again ( later found workmen at the bridge so may be connected plus the scaffolding on bank opposite) water level went down this much whilst there you can easily see the black area the flow brought some rafts of weed down that pulled rods out several times so when Ian( greenheart) said he was in area it was an easy decision to pack up, was also getting alot of line bites from bream or carp in swim as well as seemed alive with bubbles oh and the not quite a blank bit in title  well as setting up rods i managed one of these as i lifted rod up from the grass beside me( proper hooked as well)  sorry ian not big enough for garlic butter yet  __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives     |
