| start of the Pike season With a little over a week until the Pike season starts I am thinking about having a serious go at it this year. I have heard varying reasons as to why there is a "season" for pike but wondered if anyone can give a definitive answer. Also any tips on tactics and rigs would be welcome. I will be fishing lures and dead baits only. Thanks Mike __________________ Life is understood looking backwards, but it must be lived forwards. |

| Re: start of the Pike season the debate on the pike season will run and run,i personally feel it is right and the pike fishing in many waters will suffer if they are fished for all year round, i found this comment on the PAC forum which seems to sum it up for me " A pike close season can be argued for on the grounds of pike not doing well under constant pressure, and them wolfing down deadbaits in the summer " as for tips on rigs ,all i can say is keep it simple mate, complicated rigs are just a tangle waiting to happen, enjoy your piking mike, keep searching for the fish and dont neglect the margins |
