Quality thread! on the first page of the thread i noticed a reply on how pike get mistreated! A nature reserve near me has 3 lakes all known for their big pike! when picking a swim out last year i must have walked into 3-4 swims that had a pikes head in them! Pike are my favourite fish and if i saw someone cutting a pikes head off (unless it was for cooking) they would definately know about it!

100percent true mate! i found out first hand! and if you have just caught a pike and catch yourself with the treble when just unhooking it can have the same effect!? so ive heard....

when you see evidence of that it is most likely our eastern european friends poaching a fish or two for the table
i would alert whoever is in charge of the water mate
