Hi newbie with a question or 2

Hi all great forum you have going on here.

im seeking a bit of advice, i currently fish for carp, but im moving over to dublin in a few months , so i will be hanging up my carp gear.

i want to start fishing for pike, can you recommend me a upto date book and dvd which i can buy, and that will give me all the info i need to get started.

also about my gear, will my 2.75tc carp rods do the job for pike with my shimano 10000 reels?

thanks in advance for any tips, info

Re: Hi newbie with a question or 2

hello mate, welcome to the forum,i think your gear will be fine, don't be tempted to go too fine on the line either,15lb bs will suffice,
as for books, the latest fox guide to modern piking is very informative , i can't help you with dvd's.

best of luck mate

alrite buddy, in dub meself some lovely spots in and around dublin and crackin spots anything from an hour to two hrs drive in any direction, head north you,ve got cavan ,east shannon region including the river suck and the river inny, head south you,ve got the river barrow, all prime pike rivers waiting to be explored and most of the pike have,nt seen a hook.

sounds excellent , cant wait to get over. we will be living out in RUSH.

Its gona be tuff giving up me carp fishing, but i think the pike is the way forward for me out there, with all those great places to fish. it would be stupid not to have a dabble.
