Unhappy 6th blank in a row

well i tried for the pike on the canal again today(blanked last 5 trips(havnt posted aboutlast few of them as so uneventfull)
weather was changeable but ok, wind was very erratic gusting all over the place

set up first just on start of bend

baits for the day were lamprey, makkie and bluey
nothing happened at this swim but i was treated to a fantastic display of a kestral hovering and hunting its prey

which gave me a chance to try out new cameras zoom, i was pretty impressed

i was also treated too 2 flocks of lapwings flying overhaed but didnt try for them as raining at that point

then moved to fave swim opposite boats, and despite some very accurate casting in the swirly wind(managed a lamprey section between boats without hitting them)

again nothing so went for a bit nmore of a walk and fished under the M5 bridge

was pleasent enough(seem to miss the road noise above) waiting for the old float too dip

well in the end admitted defeat again
was a very pleasent morning, i will be back as ever but the canal has been really out of sorts for me for a while now as havnt managed a pike since start of october, has anyone else fished had any reports from canal, as i really need to see a croc again soon

hopefully means the next one will be a lunker

Re: 6th blank in a row

That boat swim looked good for a fish or two! I've had some good results on the river using smelt over the last few weeks.

Re: 6th blank in a row

Unlucky Dave, doesn't look a bad place to blank though.

Re: 6th blank in a row

Better luck next time mate. We shall have to meet up for a Piking session down there. I've driven over that bridge more times than i'd care to count & always thought it looks a nice peice of water.
