new year pike

had a nice days piking today, after a couple of months off it was nice to get back on the bank,i headed for a swim that has produced a lot of fish for me in the 35 years i have fished the lake

was fishing by the now customary 0400,the weather was very mild with light rain and not a breath of wind,
action sarted at 0730 with a sharp drop back which gave me a nice little 6 pounder

in the next 3 hours i caught another 3 jacks and lost 2 more, none were as big as the first one,
4 fish by 10.30 then it stopped,i didn't have another fish for the rest of the day,
i stayed until 1800 and called it a day as the rain had come back

nice to get off the mark for 08, 1 1/2 points please

when you are using a 12lb carp as livebait you need a big float
