Re: pikeing tommorrow(i hope)

well i tried, and despite geffs optomisisum i froze my bits off too no avail

weather wise it was lovely dry, overcast and a slight breese

got there just before 7 with the car thermometer showing a slightly chilly -3*c and a hint of a fuzzy head(I blame baggie for leading me astray in the pub last night and twiddles for showing me[and baggie] her pussy)

i walked to fave swims on bend, nearly opposite boat in pic, couldnt really see water just looked dark and weedy, then took a look when setting up and realised whole canal at that point was solid ice
pic here taken later

so ended up having to walk back and fish the main bank

there was 1 other madman there trying for the pike , he wrangled out a small jack about 10am
i fished on till 2.30 , tried everything i know but not even a bleep on alarm, or bob of a float
left to see car thermometer showing a positively tropical +2*c(donned hawaiin shirt and drove home to the beachboys to warm up)

they are playing with the water levels down on canal again and its at least 1 - 1 1/2 feet down dont know if thats a factor but the canals been tough this year only had 1 1/2 decent session there so far
thats now my 3rd blank on a row

a tough day
but i'll be back as ever

dave

Re: pikeing tommorrow(i hope)

7am is quite impressive mate. Not far past the planned 6:30am eh?

Shame about the fish, but at least you got out. Would have thought it might have been a touch cold though!
