hoping to get on the canal mon pm/eve3/12

well i havent been out it seems for weeks so sure i can swing a pass later( have brought choccies and breezers to soften blow) for piking monday

if anyones arround i'm hoping to get to lime kilns area mon afternoon 1pmish till prob about 8-9 pmish as heard better reports for fishing eve into dark lately, infact know of a confirmed 20
if anyone else interested pm or shout

will confirm sun eve if going as weather report for weekends foul and praying clears up monday

captains cup on monday so not playing this week, planning fishing to finish at about 9 ish so still 3 hours of pub too go , what a cunning plan

Good Luck Dave, you are lucky they let you night fish your canal, it is not allowed on our nearest stretch.

allowed on canal, but will not be going to a remote part as not always visited by the right type of company if you know what i mean

alot of river and lakes run by exeter you need an extra permit for overnight here though

well all systems go here so if anyones passing with a spare beer in hand i'll be down the lime kilns either main bank or off too right dependant where the wind takes me as looking very gusty for tommorrow from 1pmish till get scared in the dark,

well that was a tough one
conditions seemed good
wind was fairly gusty from the west with intermittent heavy showers
at 3pm nearly had headtorch on as so dark, but was easily fishable on stretch wher i was

stuck to the main bank due too wind and tried all baits i had (lamprey, makkie, sprat and herring)every way i know, ledgered flat, popped up and floated(when wind died) and spinning as well

treated too a double rainbow and a pair of kingfishers and yellow wagtails working the bankside

but nothing fishy doing
missed i lift and drop on the makkie and that was it
gave up about 7.30 as just tooo quiet, whole area seemed out of sorts not even signs of baitfish in the dusk, 1 or 2 liners but thats about it

maybe i needed some course fish baits or the pike werent in this area today who knows

but i'll be back
next time the biggie
