saved by the jack

my days piking was a bit of an anti climax,i was hoping for a croc or two but it turned out to be a grueller,
got myself comfy in my chosen swim by 0445 and was quickly covered in frost,
the thermometer in the car said -2 but it felt colder.

had decided that i was going to fish this area as it is not fished very much and it is very deep and mysterious, just the sort of area you can imagine a 30 hiding away ,
well try as i might i could not get a bite,2 other guys were fishing round the corner and between us we had 9 rods out without a single fish.
i stuck it out and at just before 3 in the afternoon decided to call it a day, just a couple of casts with a wobbled bluey and i would be off,
guess what,on the last cast i got a nice little 2 pounder, only a tiddler you may say but it was a blank buster,

my first pike on a bluey,it may have been a hard day but i went home happy

Shorts and T Shirt was it then Paul? Fair play mate, that's territory brass monkeys fear to tread.

Glad you caught the jack. A blank would have been harsh reward for your efforts. Good report mate.
