another snippet

this was posted on my club forum about paradise lakes by somebody who has been there
" The bait available at the lake is rolled by Gary at Poacher Baits, You will get it a darn sight cheaper and fresher off of Gal, than buying it off of Tony at the lake
If weight issues are worrying you, then take your boilies with you and buy pellet etc when you get there."

interesting stuff,

remember Im in the car with you mate !!!

I must admit I will be tacking the basics with me

1 rucksack ( if it does not fit in then I will not take it )
My rods and reels
Bivvy and bedchair

Think the clothing will take up the most room as a week being cold is not fun

Re: another snippet

a guy on my local club forum has just got back from there,
this is what he had to say
well what can i say!!!! Superb lake, Super fish!!! Service provided by Tony and Adam was great. One little dissapointing fact tho..... i blanked!!! all bar a 1.5lb jack pike!!!! Lots of fish out of the barrage end but strong cold northerly wind set in and put a damper on fishing the other end of lake. Last year had similar conditions so ive been told, but the fish were already spread over the lake and catch reports indicated that fish were caught all over. had fish lumping in front on the first day but then it snowed, and then rained, then snowed some more, and then rained again......! Better luck next time!!!!!!

sounds like a chilly week

Re: another snippet

Good to hear that he liked the place, I just hope none of us blank!!! And we better not have snow!

Now we have had a tackle shakedown I know what i need to take kit wise, and it will be less than I had this last trip!!!!( didn't use half what I took ) I am just unsure about taking some hook baits from home or buying it all there, and I am not sure how much money to allow for bait.

Any ideas?

Mike

Re: another snippet

mike as far as bait go if you want to take bait with you
ITS A MUST THAT NONE OF IT TO BE SHELF LIFE AS ITS NOT ALLOWED ON THE LAKE .

personally i would buy it out there so much easier and you can buy as little or as much as you want no point buying it here and the weather being like it was at the week end and the fish don,t put there head downs you only got to bring it all home again

i,m allowing £250 for bait (stuff the expense i,m on holiday and i want to catch )
just remember you are fishing for very big carp and they did not get that big by eating pva bags fulls of bait

tightlines
Kevin
