I believe the original plan was to have a couple of stops on the way, to eat and take a rest. The journey should be part of the holiday, not a mad dash to get there, so let us chill and enjoy, the drivers need a suitable rest break, there is much more concentration needed to drive in France because of all those silly foreigners on the wrong side of the road, they take some avoiding.

I'm happy to stop every few hours (no doubt I'll be needing the toilet ) and will be good to re-charge our batteries with a bit of grub.

I find it best to take some grub as the services are chaotic to say the least. For those of you who havent driven in France you're in for a nice surprise - its alot nicer than driving in the UK, the toll roads are 130 kph speed limit getting on for 85 mph.
