judging by what i heard on the radio today, we now have to refer to her as

what a woman!!i admire her for her bravery ,skill and determination, dosent this make all you peeple sitting around at home doing nothing want to go out and do something with your lives, i wish i had the B******S to go and do something like that...i suppose i will just have to make do with a little bassing up the bristol channel .........

while sipping earl grey in some posh hotel lounge this morning i picked up the times newspaper (as i couldnt find the star or the sun ) while flicking through i come across a page full of debates about ellen macarther and they were saying things like she should not be recognised for what shes done as a sports person!because the record was acheived by technology computors ,satalite and so on , and by people sitting on dry land guiding it around the word....some peeple are just so jeleous and i think she is a hero .......please remember these are not my words ,just what i read this morning !!!

Same old same old.

It never ceases to amaze me how the British media take time and indeed effort, to build and to boost someone up, only to do a brilliant job in trying to bring them down again. Please someone, explain to me why?

I also noticed that Ellen’s quest was only really highlighted on the news when she had fallen behind the record pace, only to come back on our screens as she neared the finishing line with more than a good chance of breaking the record.

Im with welly. She is a hero and if no one thinks she is, try it the way she did it, for a week.

I think Ellen MaCarthur is AMAZING!!

she is such an inspiration to me/women ....it was brilliant that she managed to beat the record!!...after so much determination & hard work.


after reading her book...i now know that if you really want to do/achive something...u can...as long as u have enough determination & will power


she`s a hero to all us women...

I heard that Ellen's B&Q boat almost got sunk the other day, by someone getting too close to it whilst it was moored up
