Re: grand prix season not a bad 1/4 mile time, certainly 1 to be proud of. you're right paul, there's no other sport where the results can be messed about like it is in f1. can fully understand why spectators will be turning over in their droves if things continue as they are, & it won't be just the casual observers either! it's certainly not a good for anyone & if tv audiances fall, despite the atmosphere, track side spectators may well drop & possibly even some of the sponsers may not want to be associated with a failing product ... all could mean the end of what is 1 of the most prestigous sports in the world. there's little enough motorsport on regular channels as it is & probably not much more on satelite/cable channels __________________ www.mobilespanner1.co.uk

Re: grand prix season anyone see the malaysian gp? i seriusly don't like the later starts, especially when race officials were told what time of the day rain was expected & they set the race for bang on the time. to bernie for sticking to his guns & not listening to the fans, drivers & advisors.i also liked the way they went back to the last complete lap before the safety car came out putting hamilton ahead of webber, then decided to go back a further lap putting webber ahead of hamilton. ![]() missus thinks hamilton should play the race card, who remembers alonso's fans racial taunts last year? fia just brushed it under the table. will wait for the final results to be published in a few days time. what was run of the race though i thought was good, even though pit strategy more than racing won again. maybe go back to cars being fuelled for the full race & just tyre pit stops? will stop pit strategy & put emphasis on going for position back to racing, as none of the recent rule & technical changes have made any difference __________________ www.mobilespanner1.co.uk

Re: grand prix season naturally i watched the race, or at least half a race to be more accurate. you just know that when the drivers really don't want to race things must be bad. round of applause for button but a bigger one for lewis. in the points again, even if he was conveniently bumped down the running by some creative race directorship. can wait to see how he gets on when his car becomes competetive again.... he really needs to keep squeaky clean now as it has become obvious now that the powers that be don't want him there. just wait until maclaren bring out their big fancy diffuser, mind you, that would prompt bernie & friends to ban them ![]()

Re: grand prix season it's daft that despite the drivers concerns & all the advice, the race still went ahead at the later time. it was inevitable there would be rain. i think they should go back to the normal start times as fans have & always will be up at stupid o'clock in the morning to watch. i agree, will be interesting to see what happens once mclaren become competitive again. not wanting to take anything away from button, i wonder if it would've been the same result if it hadn't been for the pit strategy? will be nice to talk about a race without having so many negatives taking precedence over the racing. i'm sure you see some anglers during the canadian & monaco gp's lol __________________ www.mobilespanner1.co.uk

Re: grand prix season anyone been following the goings on between fota & fia/fom with regards signing up for next season & the rules? i've been following it quite closely, could it spell the end for f1 being the pinical of motorsport? at least brawn gp with jenson & rubens have been on top form, glad jenson is finally in a car he deserves. it's also good that the main emphasis has returned to the track for most, only hard core piston heads will be following the current political storm rumbling away. __________________ www.mobilespanner1.co.uk
