realy bad start to this year

the cod havent shown nearly all anglers are getting whiting or codling with the exeption of a 12lbcod off a charterboat

last week

no not me

cod seem to have disapeared whats the catches elsewhere guys any decent cod out there???

Haven't heard of much mate. The odd fish from Chesil and a few from the boats. Most small stuff in the channel as well. Depressing ain't it?

went out on sunday as crew on boat"halcyon days " ten rods all baits you can think of long story short one flatty one 2lb codling all mersey covered not a bloody sauseage in the river

got a real gripe about a tackle shop who sold a young lad on the charter

20 sets of feathers to fish the mersey for cod in this weather and not one set of cod feathers all hokies and maccys lad wouldnt tell me whitch shop as he was a little embarresed

at a loose end after work for a few hours popped down to river to fish an hour down and two up must be doing somethink right got six codling to two half pound all in an hour around the turn of the tide nice little session lug and squid was the bait

weeks and weeks of fishing mersey not a lot to show for it then mate on his boat berthed in docks watching 3 tugs push a big ship into position opposite where he was water churning furiously causing his boat to rock he went on deck to check the moring lines lo and behold there was a six pound plus stunned cod flapping on the surface scooping it up in the net hows that for luck???????
