Question Fishing the Mersey

Any tips from anyone on what bait is best for cod. I am getting quite a few whitting with lug but Im not sure what else to use.

There was a feature in Sea Dangler, about the Mersey from a boat... sometime last year i think.

They were using Rag 3-4 at a time, tipped with squid and Whole Squid.

i always use wishbone rig two black lug on each hook tipped with half a squid i normally fish from a dingy and uptide never tried casting a bait this big from the shore best of luck

big baits tipped with squid and if you are fishing a charter try and get the skipper to go to the clackface or just off the old hms eaglet about 200yards and anchor up ,loads of whiting and dabs about with the odd decent sized cod , but loads of fish nevertheless...barny
