Saaramaa (estonia today)

Well as the rest of the team went out diving today i was given the day off which was like winning the lottery as i didnt get in untill 0600 from the pub
Anyway back to bed for a few hours and then i thought i d have a bash in the Baltic.
I found an old spade out the back of the hotel and managed to dig a few earth worms for bait ,grabbing my trusty 110 Kroons whip (about 4 quid) i jumped in the van and headed down to the nearest harbour.
After about 30 mins of nothing i finally hooked into a perch of about 6oz which i popped back into the water to the shocked looks of the locals.
The supermarkets are full of perch, roach and pike out here and the people fishing keep them all for the pot, which is no bad thing.
Things were very quet on the fishing front so i moved to a deeper shaded spot.
This did the trick and i was staight into a better perch of maybe a pound, another couple follwed and then the roach came one after another for about 3 hours.
The only other species i caught was a ruffe,my first ever one
At about 1800 i d had enough and it was getting chilly,i had 4 perch 1 ruffe and well over 40 roach all from the baltic sea, strange eh?
I did take a few photos and will post them when i get home.
cheers, john
