Unhappy Less cod in Norway

Went out fishing again last night (if that's what you call it).

It was very embarrassing .

Went with Uncle again to the same spot I di so well with last time. (see 'cod in Norway')

I tried all I could to get a bite.
Used the same coloured lure as last time. Stood in the same place. Cast in the same direction etc.

All I could do was watch uncle drag out cod one after the other standing no more than 15' away from me.

When he pulled in 2 in one go, I jokingly said he was boasting now!!
He came over and showed me what he was using. It was an imitation green worm/hook a little above his normal lure.
He gave me one to use on my line, and I tried again.
And again etc.
Nothing!

After about 3 hours watching him haul them in I decided to give up. He said I could stand where he had been and use his kit.
3 or 4 trys wa enough to convince me it was not my day.
He took his rod back and said he would have one last cast.
What did he do?
Yup, another one.

Sigh.

Thoroughly defeated.

Agree with Richard too.

A nice read. Better luck next time.

Do you try using bait for cod, or is it always lures?
