Re: Cod in Norway

i know norway as i lived over their for a wile a few years back near honefoss and khistensand so im might go back one day as you can get a ferry over from newcastle to khistensand as well but that takes about 17 hours

Re: Cod in Norway

I am in Larvik which is about 25 mins drive away from Torp.

The ferry to Kristiansand is an alternative for those living in the North of England but as you say, its a long overnight sailing (dfdsseaways.co.uk) so it adds 2 days travelling losing that valuble fishing time!
The prices vary a lot for that too. Then its at least 2 hrs driving if you are coming over to Larvik.

Talking Re: Cod in Norway

could always drop a pirk or feathers or something over the side of the ferry to make up for that lost fishing time.

anyway, from the sound of your report, the long trip sounds well worth it!!!

Re: Cod in Norway

Yes, most people Can speak a fair bit because it is a compulsory subject in school from primary age.

Only the older generations (over 60s) might have trouble as it was not introduced in schools back then.
I have only come across a few people who do not understand a word of it.

Its not a problem.
