My first ever bass

Went fishing yesterday off the front of walney island, got there about 2 hours before high tide and followed it in. Its the first time ive ever fished there or fished for bass......what an afternoon!! First cast waited about 2 mins and i was in! coudnt believe it my first ever bass!! Wasnt quite a keeper so put it back, rebaited and cast again, waited about 5mins and i couldnt believe my luck when my rod jumped out of the rod rest! 2 casts 2 bass . This time it was a decent size so kept it. Unfortunatly i didnt achieve a hatrick .

A few casts later though i was in again, this time another smaller bass followed shortly by another that was probably just under.
I was in my element at this point and as the tide turned was running out of bait. One of my final casts i was amazed when i got another bite and reeled in another large bass.

For my first time fishing for bass i had hooked 5 and kept 2!

It was strange as 10 feet to my left my friend caught nothing but a small halibut. And 10 feet to my right another friend didnt get a sniff.

I was using lugworm as bait as was my friend to the right who got nothing. My friend to the left was using makerel.

I was the only one of us using a 2 hook bomber rig and we wondered whether this is why i was the only one to catch??

Well done on the bass! sounds like you had fun. I'm not familiar with a bomber rig so can't comment on that one.
