Arneside Sunday first april. Flounder in prime condition but not plentiful. all mine caught on the back end of the tide, come to think of it most fish caught was on the back of the tide. The biggest problem was the wind that I estimated at about 30mph and although it was a fine day it were cold. Gave me a chance to try out the new okuma magmatix and it performed really well, far better than penns 525. I can recommend this reel to anyone. I think that it would be equally at home on the boat uptiding.

Re: Arneside So did you get the shore version or the boat..? As I think your comments on it being better than Penn's 525's a little premature mate... The Okuma Magnetix (shore version) only holds 190 yds of 15lb. line....How can that be better than the 525..??? Use 20lb line and goodness knows how much line will be on the spool after casting...... __________________ I like this !!!! wowgoldboss World of Warcraft Gold WOW Gold Cheap WOW Gold WOW Gold Buy WOW Gold

Re: Arneside Nice one on the flounders mate. I have to agree with Upnorth. It is too early to tell if the Okuma is better than the 525. I was not a great lover of the 525 when I bought it at first, as I think they are a bit rough sounding and their design is off balanced. However after using a couple last year on my charter boat. I can thoroughly recommend them. they outlasted the ABU 6500's and I threw away all my Okumas after about 3 months. I bought 2 Okuma Titus Gold 2's They start of nice and shiny, but the components soon wear down after a few weeks hard use. I had to replace them with the much more expensive Shimano Tiagra's. Now they are lovely reels and at £400 a pop they should be. The same goes for the freshwater reels. Give them a couple of months hard work and the bearings wear out. I have always maintained that the drag on Okuma interceptors and the like are cr*p
