| Middleton...11/2/07 on sunday me and dad got the opportunity to go out to the middleton. we were excited because there was a big sea running still and usually that meant lots of nice fish! got there around 4:15 after getting 2 score of lug from the friarage tackle shop and a few tiplights (glow-sticky ones) we arrived at the pier to find a whopping 45-50 people there!! probably attracted by big seas and easterly winds. we decided we better go on the little branch that went alongside the pier, on the harbour side, also where all the worm beds are (luvverly spot) you also have to consider that this was behind the open sea, sheltered. the waves on the open sea side were breaking over the top of the little bridge you will see later.![]() ![]() heres the amount of people on the pier...a bit of a bad shot but they wer far away...thats just the tip of the pier! it was like that ALL THE WAY DOWN. if we had chosen to go on the main pier we would have had about a foot of space. no joke. and there was still some fools doing pendulum casts there...HIGHLY dangerous. you can see about 1 in 2 people on that picture. ![]() onto the fishing! i had a double hooker set up and dad with a pulley as usual. i put 2 lug on the bottom hook and a sandeel on the top and gave it a gentle 50-60 yard lob into the worm beds. would have been further but there wer 3 people on the opposite pier, who me and dad nicknamed the 3 ronnies as they made us laugh, the one in the flourescent jacket crossed dads line, and his two mates lines at least twice. lmao. so i couldnt put it out too far or ID end up crossing THEM. nothing much happened apart from the odd twitch and the compulsory crabs tearing up our baits until i had a rip-snorter of a bite which i pounced on too quickly and ended up pulling the bait out of the fishes mouth. i think it was a flatty. we carried on getting crab bites and little knocks and twitches throughout the night but nothing landed. surprisingly, the other 43 people didnt catch a THING either, so that was ok lol. now a new thing im going to try, making a little movie of the venue and hosting it on youtube, then putting it on this report...here goes! im sure ill be helped if it doesnt work (please ) __________________ "Alright Jack, we all ready to fish?" | Re: Middleton...11/2/07 Nice report PP, and a cracking video. Worked a treat! Unlucky about the fish, but you'll get 'em next time. ![]() __________________ Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land.
