Hartlepool on day of Easington Comp

well on sunday...that day of the easington comp me and dad decided to go fishing...didnt fdish the competition though. went for a 2- up 2- down session at seaham originally but i twas going to be packed with the open on so we went to the twin steps at hartlepool. a chance to try out my new rod

it was wrong wind and the sea was flat calm... not looking too good but we got some bait fron the friarage and went on down. tackled up with a two hook rig and dad with a pulley. put on the motor oil berkeley worms and fish baits maybe tipped with rag (one of em bit me...little nipper it was! ) dad was goin for the cocktail baits...bout 3 rag squid and macky on lol.

first cast was in for bout 20 mins...nothing...same for second... same for third. we eventually got bored and went to parton hoping for better luck...but no, it was more of the same...apart from the fact that between us me and dad must have hauled in a whopping 2 stone of weed!!

so...no points from that session for the species hunt...this weekend looking doubtful with the HUGE winds we r having (all south westerlys...give us some northerlys!! )

but the rod worked perfectly and im hittin 80 - 100 average now and the sensitivity was awesome when detecting the bite of the weed-fish!

Re: Hartlepool on day of Easington Comp

i think it might be--- this is what it is described as
Quote:
The Ccc is built on a 7/8" mandrel and the outside diameter is just over 1" (26mm). The action of the rod is designed to prescribe a curve that looks like a letter C when under full compression but the tip recovery is very quick. This accelerates the lead and bait to greater distance when pure fishing time over rides the need to spend months perfecting advanced casting skills. The prototypes and design feedback has all been through Danny Moeskop's hands and as you would expect from a man of his experience - his seal of approval means that you are assured of a competent fishing tool.

Factory Finish: Fuji BNHG guides
* Casting Ratio: 4-7oz (125-200gm)
* Length: 13' (3.96m)
* Butt Diameter: 1 ” (2.54cm)
* Butt: 74” (1.88m)
* Tip: 82 ” (2.08m)
dont know if that helps but it does look a bit thinner at the butt than other century rods.
