Lightbulb The Middleton Trip- Sunday 8th October

well, a bit later than planned we went to the middleton. got there around 3 o clock with the high tide at 5:15. first major event... i lose my whole shock leader and my rig...luvverly. so i retackle with a makeshift snap swivel and another rig and chuck it out again.

one of the main things here was the very strong wind which got on our nerves!. then, out of the 20 rods on the pier, i caught first! i decided to give the harbour side a chuck and i was rewarded with my first cod of the season!!! a monster tommy codling of around 5 oz!!!!

with dad still plugging away on t'other side of the pier, i decide to keep on at the harbour side. nothing really happened then until around half 7, just on the change of the tide when i got my second cod!!! another tommy codling of around 7 or 8 ounces this time.

then, we ran out of ragworm, had a look at any other catches from the 20 rods (one little pound and a half coalie and a horrid little weaver). i think i got the best catch still! unfortunately it was dads turn to blank this time but u win some u lose some!
