Hi All, I agree with you that it's very wrong to catch loads of mackerel and just dump them but it's also wrong to tar everyone with the same brush. I live a long way from the coast and if I'm lucky get down 4 times a year to do some fishing. Mackerel is my favourite tasting fish and the more I catch in my roughly 1 chance a year, the better. I don't leave them flapping around me, I at least put them in a cool box and I never waste them, at worst they're used for bait on my next trip but better still I can eat a mackerel whenever I want for the next few months. So when you see my mad, blissed out face catching as many mackerel as I can, please don't think I'm a ...... I'm just revelling in something I love to do and when you don't get to do it very often the more you catch the more you enjoy.
