mackerel and tuna are of the same piscatorial family, and indeed are cod and whiting, but can you seriously go and target double figure whiting?? mmm.

That was the point I was making, I wished mackerel grew to double figures ( the mackerel we catch on our shores - you know,,the ones with the stripey backs 'n all that,,and are a great bait too,,fresh or frozen!!)

and as for being a pro.....I wish! but I am seriously considering chucking work in and becoming full time angling journalist, and am definately gonna get my coaching badges, and become a sea angling coach, theres loadsa potential up here to do it...

Just keeping you on your toes for next Saturday :)

I was fishing last weekend with DS and there was a guy next to me pendulum casting. It was so smoothe and effortless and he was pinging his lead twice as far as yours truly........ So I can't wait for your casting clinic, though I'll probably tie myself up in knots and end up making a right ar*e of myself - nothing new I can assure you.

So I hereby volunteer to be your first pupil on Saturday!

there was 1 caught off dartmouth over 300lb in a net not to long ago so they could turn up anywhere
