North East Up-Date.........

As it`s been a few months since anyone from up north has posted and info ........................................

The cod situation is just like every where else.................not a lot catching....................the odd few cod are being caught on the blast beaches and a few cod at the Twin steps.......................the weather may have had a hand in a lot of us not getting out...............
In my case my wife would not let me come out to play..........her who should be obayed......................................yer right!

you're obviously fishing in the wrong places up here, i've had stacks of fish, and my pals are catching well too, we've had the conditions too...you need to find out where the fish are mate...

does anyone know how to get to the ore terminal on river tees i have heard good reports from there

well.....................I just got back from Middleton Pier........................fished from 3.30pm till 8pm ...and what a bloody good time I`ve had.

(2 rod set up )

Fished just before the light , on left hand side
Caught 41 whities (all returned fit and well )
2 codling.........2 lb 2oz and 3lb 4oz.......( both returned ok )

1st rod was about 60 yards out......
2nd rod was about 30 yards out........

bait used :-

lug worm
squid
mackerel
daylight with lumi hooki head. with a lug & squid cocktail (This caught the codling)
