whitby pier today

fishied whitby pier today for acouple of hours
had my 13 beach caster and my penn super mag with 25lb straight through and the rod didnt atchuly fit under the pier so casting was out of the option so it was just simple droping it over the side but this was enough
bait was black lug, baby squid and herring
the 1st couple of casts were fruitless but then i switched to baby squid and was getting bites within seconds of the bait hitting the bottom
they turned out the be baby coalfish (billit i think is the northern name) all of which were very small but still good fun
i also managed 1 good sized mackerel and a dab(1st for me)
here is me with 1 of the bigger coalfish and my mackerel

and 1 of my dab which my sis thought would be very funny to cut me out of

all in all quite an enjoyable couple of hours
unfortunatly no more fishing up north for me but i managed to get 3 new fish for me, cod, coalfish and dab
was gonna go last night but a combination of a big thunder storm and too much to drink put an end to that idear
will be back home tomorrow and after some bass action
