| The Sumps area, Seaton Sluice Fished near the sumps off Seaton sluice on Friday night, started 5:30pm and finished 5:30am on low tide. Cast off an area av not heard mentioned before, parked at the Kings Arms Pub, then crossed the little foot bridge, took an immediate right, cutting down the small grass track past the white house, then climbed down the rocks and went right. Towards the Gulley where the old boat access route has been blocked off. There are some flat rocks on the low tide, cast at the edge of the ledge on a diagonal out to sea, got constant bites until the tide started coming in fast. Caught 2 small codling, 1 small whiting, 1 small coalie and a lobster leg. That was between 3 of us, was a shame that the full lobster wasnt attached with the leg like. Initially thought the line was snagged so gave a big snap back on the rod and thats what must av ripped the leg off. Was a goo area to fish off but only on a low tide and rotten bottom rigs are a must, I lost a weight every time I retrieved, but was better than losing everything. |
