| Fishing Off from the 'spirit of south shields statue' Just got back from a fishing session, fished the up tide on the Tyne, from 1pm till 5pm. The wind was hurrendous but you could still tell the difference between that and a bite. Caught 4 fish in total 2 nice size whiteys along with a teeny one and a 2 pound coalfish. First time I have tried from this spot and it seems pretty decent. |

| Re: Fishing Off from the 'spirit of south shields statue' Cheers, was back there at the same point a week ago and caught 7 fish in total inlcuding 3 codlings and my biggest whiting out the tyne which was 3 pounds, if I knew how to put pics up on here I would put a few pics up of my catches to show. Caught my big whiting on a standard pennel rig, baited with mackerel and lugworm, tied on with cotton, but found that if you put a feather rig on, you get bite after bite and dont wait long between them either. Am trying to find a new spot on the north east shoreline at the moment though, cos av just bought a radio controlled fishing boat from america, so keen to give it ago. Apparently the range is over 450feet, so should get out to over the length of a football pitch, hopefully. |
