Friday At Hartley Bay

Well 5 Hours on the down tide at Hartley Bay in the snow and not even a good bite. Fished to the left, off the rocks as apparently there is a n does nice deep drop if you cast past the end of the rock ledge, but not too sure where it is, so could of been fishing in shallow water all day. As not much line was going out after the weight hit the water, does anyone know this area or where exactly to cast off from for better depth? There was a guy digging for rag worm all day and he reckoned that someone caught a 16 pound cod, a few days ago! but thats not saying that he was telling the truth though, he seemed genuine enough.
