| Re: Cod fishing Yorkshire ? Hi just got in from a run down the coast from Whitby to Withernsea checkin out caravan touring sites and the local fishing. It's much the same all the way down, no one seems to be getting anything special but they are catching. Scarbrough as come back to life from near the lighthouse on lad said he had a few pollock big enough for the pan. Brid. is as normal flatties with the odd pollock and bass. Further down off the beaches they say its mostly bass so your Hornsea area looks like bass but don't expect any monsters they say.... O.K. mate hope that was of some help Catchya................ ![]() __________________ It is better to have fished and caught nothing, than never fished at all. | Re: Cod fishing Yorkshire ? the cod turn up at hornsea usually after xmas on the bigger tides and a good easterly blow will help no end to push them in they hang around until march/april then they move offshore on to the rougher ground further south. as for the bass fishing this year has been the best so far with fish to 6lb in bags of 6-10 fish a session on crab baits. hornsea has to be the worst beach for bassing in the area and u need to head south for the better fishing i run a site on the area www.mack1.karoo.net/chris macky |
