| Going codding tonight... Well, got 30 big live peelers, 100 yella's, and I'm off on another cod trip tonight! Will have to choose my mark carefully tonight, as the sea is quite big! I'm up for that double tonight fellas! Sick of those 5 pounders pestering me (only kiddin lads). Not going until around 11 ish as high water is around 9 ish, and I need to be fishing the ebb and over low water for this particular mark. the gear is sorted, new lines and leaders on reels, 3 rig wallets filled, all thats left to do is pick the missus up and kids from school, then get some kip, fill two flasks of coffee (missus'l make the sarnies), pick me pal up, then off to the beach! God I love this fishing lark!!! Will report back as soon as fellas, hopefully with a good report!!     |

| Re: Going codding tonight... Thanks Old Smoothie, hopefully, we may need the gaff tonight!! My mate went last night for a couple of hours - said he landed 9 cod to 11lb. Said he hit one fish, and just couldn't budge it!! It was taking line off his reel and when it stopped he tried to turn it's head " couldn't even lift iz head!!" he said, eventually started to pump into it, and when it hit shallow water, it suddenly realised it was hooked, he panicked, the fish panicked, BIT of a comotion going on, which resulted in the line breaking, the fish escaping, and a few expletives being yelled around!! He reckons it was a 'twenty' !! But, alas, we'll never know....or will we... remember I'm after him tonight!!!! |
