London attacked

At 8.45am a series of explosions rocked the underground.

At 11.15am the latest is:

- Multiple explosions on the underground.

1 bus confirmed blown up with reports of 3 to 4 others also blown up.

Eyewitnesses on the underground reporting stepping over dozens of bodies to escape.

A very bad day for London

Re: London attacked

The info coming through here in London is all a bit garbled at the moment. Mobile phone networks appear to have been closed down in central London as a precaution against them being used to trigger bombs. Reports of explosions are now coming in of six explosions at Liverpool Street, Russell Square (Tavistock Square is just around the corner - this was reported earlier as a location), Moorgate, Algate East, Kings Cross and Edgeware Road. It is unclear if all these are actually terrorist attacks. It is possible that some of these may be electical explosions which have simply occurred because of terrorist attacks on the tube system elsewhere causing surges in the electrical system. There are a lot of people injured but as yet no reports of serious injuries or fatalities but it is still very unclear what the extent of the terrorist attack has been. There is still no official confimation of a terrorist attack as yet but the bus incident at Russell Square certainly seems to point to this.

All I can feel is anger. I hope all of those affected get home tonight and they probably have shown more bravery than the cowardly bastards who carried it out. If the speculation is correct as to who is responsible, those people are not 'great martyrs' they're scum

Re: London attacked

My sympathy goes out to all the relations of those that have died.

Sorry to say this but when are we going to learn that you cant just let every immarant or asylium seeker stay in the country when we really dont know what they are capable of. When are we going to learn we've got to start looking after ourselves. It doesn't matter how much good we do, it always comes back to haunt us. If they think this is going to bring us down. It wont! We are a strong nation and a proud one, where we dont just think of ourselves. Hope all injured recover quickly. Thinking of you all.

Re: London attacked

how can these extremists call themselves holy people ???

quite simply, they are wicked, evil, people, intent on causing harm and death to innocent civillians going about their daily business...

Something tells me that the "war on terror" will go on for many years...and the attack on Iraq has a lot to answer to...what will happen when Bush decides it's time to attack Iran ? What a world we live in ... such a wonderful planet, yet people in power seem intent on it's destruction... if there is an answer, i just hope happens when my kids are alive and well...

Sad day in Britain, after such good news, now seems forgotten..

My condolences to all those affected by todays events..
