Banking and bonus's

Watching the lunchtime news, they were honking on about stupid bonus's to bankers, when ever I have been in or around the square mile, seen all those T***s, with too much money, esp in the '80's, when brick types phones were the rage, all I can ever think is

"Where is Godzilla when we need him".

I work for a bank and get paid a bonus....I am also a keep fisherman....On the basis you dont like bankers but like fishermen. Does that make me sort of an okayish t**t?!

Can some one explain to me how ANY bonus is justified ??
I thought you went to work for a wage and that should be sufficient.
I employed people for 27 yrs and not once did they get or expect one , Apart from a xmas meal .And their wage per annum did not come to 6 figures

I totally agree that the bonuses being paid out by RBS are out of order.

The only thing I can understand though is if you pay a top banker say, £200,000 and then give him no bonus, and there are other banks that pay £200,000 AND a 6 figure bonus, where is he going to work?

RBS need their top bankers to stay with them so that they don't go completely down the tubes.

It's still wrong, but while some pay it, all the others have to. Bit like footballers wages really...........but of course they justify their money?!!!

if anyone deserves a bonus it you and your colleagues plod,not a load of bankers
