| Spill from nuke sub More than 60 gallons of radioactive liquid has spilled from a nuclear submarine into a river. A hose burst as it was pumping from HMS Trafalgar at Devonport Navy base on the River Tamar. A Navy spokesman said no one was hurt and the incident – the bases’s worst spill for 23 years- was being investigated. But anti-nuclear complainer Ian Avent said: The Royal Navy are lucky the consequences haven’t been far worse. no one was hurt so they say but what about the fish stock in the River? ![]() __________________ There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind." - Washington Irving |
