| Re: Hi All Going Gran Canria in Jan any ideas on Bit or rigs. Welcome to the fishing forum Well its been a few years but a telescop.. rod and light gear including floats ect will give you great fun if your next to a harbour. You will have loads of fun fishing bread or thin strips of squid ect But if your going to take real gear and pay the extra on the flight then its much the same as the med with dusk and dawn being the best As said its been a few years so if anyone else wishes to add __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports |

.... Hi Dan,I think I've posted this before..... I went to Fuertoventua (something like that) which is in the Canaries. We fished in sea as warm as milk - which is great in November - standing in the surf you could be any where in the world. The local fishmongers sold mussels and prawns for pennies (we cooked and ate quite a few on the beach in an old iron bucket with some sea water in it) the ones left made great bait. No-one was interested in catching world records, although that would have been nice, just in having a ball in the sun. We were looking after some physically handicapped young blokes and took them fishing with us. They had a ball too which made it more special. One day we were fishing off a nude beach, (not us - too busy fishing to get the tackle out) and one of the young blokes started laughing really loud and attracting a lot of looks from the naked members of the 'Master Race'- My mate said, "I guess John's just seen his first beaver!" Sorry I'm getting off the point.... Light gear, off the bottom or with a float rig set to fish quite deep - prawns, bread, mussel and I suppose squid (if Rich says it works , it will). Have a great time - come back safely - tell us about it and make me really jealous. Malc __________________ "Now is the winter of our discontent Made glorious summer by this son of York;" |
