hi all,newbie to the site

hiya all
not long moved over to sea fishing from course and totally addicted, wife thinks im mad as i fish through snow wind and rain and not catching much,i guess by the other reports a bad time of year to catch owt but all good practice, met lots of fellow anglers out on the torquay shoreline that are only to happy to offer tips and tricks and im very thankfull for them,im currently using just a cheap outfit just to get me started but would like to upgrade soon and have recently switched over from freespool to a fladen 860 multiplier which i got cheap of ebay just to get the feel of multipliers, after getting to grips with the dreded birds nest i now prefer to use this type of reel but cant seem to get these great distances in fact 40yds is max,ive spoken to many other anglers and seem to hear alot about the abu 6500 and the daiwa 7ht and how easy they are to cast good distances (100yds +) and control is this the case or is it just down to casting technique.
all wisdom welcome

Welcome to the forum.....

The 6500 CT Mag ,has magnetic and centrifugal brakes so you can start off with high breaking until your more confident and then change to smaller blocks and back off the mag brake. They are capable of 200yds plus and are verry user friendly. When youre really confident you can eevn adjust the mags mid cast to compensate for wind or to prevent the dreaded birdy !...
