Hiya People!

Hallo everyone!
I've recently felt the urge to get back into fishing after about eighteen years without casting a line. Since I'm in the Gatwick area it's gonna be coarse fishing on the Thames and Sea fishing from the beaches and marina at Brighton.
After spending the best part of the morning thorughly enjoying browsing this forum I'd better get off my bum and get on with some chores

Cheers, Paul

Re: Hiya People!

Welcome to the forum Pauly! You don't have to go as far as the Thames for coarse fishing. Crawley Angling Club http://www.crawleyanglingsociety.co.uk/ have some pukka waters such as Tilgate Park and Buchan Park. Theres also Dorking Angling Society http://www.dorkingas.co.ukwhich has 7 miles of the River Mole as it's disposal and is legendary for its barbel, pike and chub. For day ticket waters, there's Bury Hill http://www.buryhillfisheries.co.uk/ near Dorking which has carp into the 30's, good tench and bream. Also pike and zander in the winter months. There's also Borde Hill (excellent fishing there) http://www.bordehill.co.uk/in Haywards Heath.

Sea wise, you've got the marina in Brighton, Newhaven, Seaford, Pevensey Bay and Dungeness to the east and to the west, Worthing Pier, Littlehampton, Pagham and Selsey. All of which fish well, depending on conditions/time of year etc. In fact there's a smoothound meet on the 27th of May, why not come down and meet some of us?

Rob

Re: Hiya People!

Thanks for the welcome guys!
Rob, thanks for the info on the fishing venues. That section of the river Mole sounds very tempting. It would be good to go along to the smoothound meet and say hallo to some of the other forum members, sounds fun.
I'm one of the few people these days who don't drive but getting to Selsey will be no problem.I've had plenty of experience of getting around on trains etc with fishing tackle in the past so I'm quite used to it.
As soon as I've finished getting the rest of my tackle I think it's going to be a trip to Newhaven Harbour.
Spring has got to be just round the corner.....I hope!
