sunglasses

Hi,

I'm a sunglasses designer, and have been asked by a client to design some fishing glasses that incorporate features that aren't usually offered on fishing sunglasses.

I'm not a fisherman, so what I'd like to ask is what features are most important to you in a pair of sunglasses for fishing? This can be anything from simply shapes, styles and colours, things that make sunglasses more practical for fishing, and features that currently aren't available on fishing sunglasses but that you'd like to see.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Cheers
Andy

Re: sunglasses

Fly fishermen need sunglasses that offer good protection to the eyes from rogue fishing flies. Also being able to attach an elasticated strap to hold them securely in place would be useful. It might also come in handy if they floated. Polarisation is also very important. Also they should be flexible and not break easily.

Re: sunglasses

I personally find that sunglasses that are aimed at Anglers tend to be at the cheaper end of the market. Hence lack of good optical quality. It would be nice to have the optical quality of something like Ray Ban's without having to pay more than £50.

Re: sunglasses

thanks for the replies. unfortunately I have no power over the optical quality or price (although I will pass on the recommendations from you fishermen) but in terms of design features I'll take on board what you've said.

thanks again for the help

Best wishes
Andy

Re: sunglasses

I prefer the wrap around type of sunglasses as they have the added facility to prevent light from entering from the side and sometimes reflecting from the lens itself (when the sun is behind you).
